My name is Geoffrey Winterflood Evolving. All the time I am a self taught contemporary artist living in Lincolnshirefor. My art is a never ending journey of self discovery, unpredictable at times but creative and invigorating, my work can be displayed in both every day décor and a modern minimalist setting Painting mainly semi- abstract /impressionist work using both acrylic & oil paints. I love to do large impasto work with spontaneous fusion of colour giving a real atmospheric sense of space. Mostly I will just sit and paint what ever comes into my head depending on my mood at the time. I do also take photos of scenes that interest me and use them as a reference point not trying to copy the image but explore my own interpretation of it, but the coast line as been a big influence on my work having moved to the east coast six years ago it was this move that inspired me to paint, being only a stones throw from the beach I like to take full advantage of my surroundings and its unique relationship between land ,sea & sky and its ever changing moods. I show Most of my paintings at local exhibitions around Lincolnshire so far have had a great response, this I find very encouraging. Thank you for taking time to read this statement.
